Frequently asked questions

Is all clinical waste hazardous?

Infectious clinical waste is listed as hazardous on GOV.UK’s healthcare classification page (18 01 03*). Offensive waste 18 01 04 is listed as non-hazardous. Do not treat the words as interchangeable.

Do we need a consignment note for every bag?

Hazardous movements need a consignment note. Non-hazardous movements use duty-of-care transfer notes. The classification decides, not the van livery.

Will you collect a cupboard of unknown liquids?

No. Identify them first. We will not carry an unknown chemical to keep a booked slot.

Does a Rugby or Tamworth link mean you have a hazardous-waste plant there?

No. Those are quote areas. Bio Waste is a carrier. We do not claim a treatment plant in those towns.
